Unidentified Firebrand at Brough airfield.
On 28th July 1949 an employee of the Blackburn and General Aircraft Ltd was involved in the towing of a Firebrand aeroplane around Brough airfield when he stumbled and fell into its path. Unfortunately he was pushing the aircraft close to the port undercarriage and the port wheel of the aeroplane passed over him, killing him instantly. He was a former RAF mechanic. The identity of the firebrand is not known, it may be recorded within the inquest papers of the gentleman killed, if they still exist.
