Mosquito FB.6 TA585 at Leeming airfield.

On 8th April 1948 the undercarriage of this No.228 Operation Conversion Unit aircraft wasn't locked when it landed at Leeming airfield, it then proceeded to collapse on landing. The initial damage assessment was repairable Cat.B/FA, on 15th April 1948 it was downgraded to Re-Cat.Ac but then upgraded again to Re-Cat.B on 28th May 1948. Probably the number of surplus aircraft after the war meant repairing a damaged one wasn't worth while. It appears to have then sat unrepaired until February 1949 when it was sold for scrap.
