Hornet F.1 PX237 at Linton on Ouse airfield.
On 2nd February 1948 this 19 Squadron aircraft bounced on landing at Linton on Ouse airfield, the pilot attempted to apply full power to climb away and fly a circuit of the airfield but only the starboard engine respnded. The aircraft began to roll to port, the pilot reduced power and attempted to land, but the landing was heavy and the aircraft sustained damage. It may have come to rest in the overshoot area beyond the runway. 19 Squadron were based at Church Fenton at the time.
