Anson T.1 MG672 near Driffield airfield.

During a flight on Monday, 19th January 1948 this No.10 Air Navigation School aircraft's cockpit lighting was not working properly. During the approach to make a night landing at Driffield airfield glare on the windscreen from airfield lighting caused the pilot difficulty with visibility and the aircraft came in too low on the approach. The aircraft hit the railway embankment on the north side of the airfield site and broke off an undercarriage leg. The pilot managed to climb the aircraft and fly another circuit of the airfield. He then attempted to land the airfield on one wheel but ended up groundlooping.
