This No.230 Operation Conversion Unit aircraft had undetected damage to the undercarriage that had resulted from an earlier incident or previous heavy landings. On 19th September 1948 while taxying at Lindholme airfield the undercarriage mechanism failed and the undercarriage collapsed. The damage saw the aircraft written off.
