Martinet TT.1 HP181 near Leconfield.
On 4th February 1948 this Central Gunnery School aircraft was flown on a drogue towing air to air firing exercise over the ranges off the Yorkshire coast. After the exercise was complete the drogue banner would not release and on the second attempt to drop it the engine cut out. The pilot force landed near his base at Leconfield though the exact location is not known.
