Harvard T.2B FX468 near Finningley.

During the night of 24th November 1948 the pilot of this No.1 (Pilots) Refresher Flying Unit aircraft was attempting to land at Finningley airfield in poor weather and made an approach to land off the runway line using the standard beam approach. He mistook a sodium light for the airfield flarepath lighting. Descending too early the aircraft undershot and collided with a farm building 800 yards short of the airfield site. The pilot sustained injuries.
