The No.1 (P)RFU record book (AIR29/1809) gives basic information that during the month of December 1948 a student pilot flying a Harvard attempted a crosswing landing at Finningley. The aircraft groundlooped and an undercarriage leg then collapsed. Damage to the mainplane and wing tip resulted.
