More information is required to give this incident a better write-up. Believed to have been on 28th August 1948 this aircraft suffered engine failure while flying in the Darlington area. The pilot made a forced landing in a field near Kirk Bank Farm, a mile south-east of Middleton Tyas. The aircraft may well have escaped damage. The pilot owned the aircraft and he based it near Darlington, probably at Middleton St.George or a home / farm air strip?
