Hornet F.1 PX282 near Linton on Ouse.

On Wednesday, 10th December 1947 this 64 Squadron aircraft was flown on a weather reconnaissance flight. While making an approach to land back at Linton on Ouse following the flight the aircraft stalled on approach and crashed. The pilot was killed as a result of the crash, he was the squadron adjutant at the time. Exactly where the aeroplane crashed is not known when the webpage was created and it could turn out to be some miles from Linton on Ouse depending on the runway in use and the distance the aeroplane was at the time.
