Mosquito NF.19 TA296 at Lindholme airfield.

On 3rd December 1946 this 1653 Heavy Conversion Unit was flown on a night training exercise and during which one of the engines either began to run rough or failed. On landing at Lindholme airfield the aircraft overran the runway and collided with some form of runway lighting pole or post. The damage was assessed as being Cat.B/FA so that a repair was considered but on 5th February 1947 it was re-assessed and upgraded to Re-Cat.E and it was struck off charge.
