Mosquito FB.VI NS954 at Leeming airfield.
During the evening of 19th September 1946 this No.54 Operational Training Flight aircraft was due to be flown on a training flight. On take off at Leeming airfield at 19.35hrs one of this aircraft's engines cut out and it swung off the runway. The undercarriage collapsed close to or just beyond the airfield boundary. The damage was assessed as being Cat.B/FA and transported to DeHavilland for a repair in works but this was never completed and it was later re-assessed as Re-Cat.E that saw it struck off charge. The pilot was uninjured and was part of Course 68 at the time.
