Halifax VII NA410 at Carnaby airfield.
On 16th August 1946 this No.1333 (Transport Support) Conversion Unit was flown on a training flight and attempted a landing at the crew's regular base of Syerston, Lincolnshire. Unfortunately during the landing the undercarriage became damaged. The pilot managed to get the back into the air and was able to fly an overshoot. The crew were then ordered to fly to the emergency landing strip at Carnaby where they then landed but the undercarriage then collapsed at 17.29hrs. Cat.B/FA damage was the initial damage assessment but this was upgraded to Re-Cat.E on 2nd September 1946 and it was struck off charge.
