Anson T.1 EF828 at Church Fenton airfield.

More information around this incident is required and I have no information researched from actual source information. The incident occurred on 25th October 1946 when Anson EF828 overshot on landing on wrong runway in poor visibility at Church Fenton airfield. The damage sustained saw the aircraft written off. Others credit the Anson as being with 609 Squadron but the squadron only received their first aircraft, Mosquito VA883 on 20th October 1946. Their record book states their second was Oxford HN599 which arrived on 19th November 1946. In other words, they had no Anson on 25th October 1946. It was possibly a Church Fenton airfield Station Flight aircraft at the time or perhaps on the delivery flight when it crashed and was then not taken on charge by them until later once repaired.
