Spitfire Mk.Vb W3834 at Topcliffe airfield.
At 14.22hrs on 5th January 1945 was being moved around Topcliffe airfield following a flight by a No.12 Ferry Pilot Pool pilot of the ATA. While groundcrew were directing the pilot she misunderstood the signals and ran across the hard standing onto an area of softer ground. The wheels dug into the ground and the aircraft tipped onto its nose. It appears to have been joining 1659 Heavy Conversion Flight at the time of the incident.
