Halifax RG594 damaged in the air, landed at Elvington airfield.

During the afternoon of 2nd April 1945 this 346 Squadron aircraft was flown on a training flight. During the flight the crew practiced feathering propellers. On one such practice the pilot made the incorrect procedure to feather the one on the starboard inner engine and the propeller oversped for around twenty seconds before being returned to normal. During this time the engine received damage. The crew were able to land at Elvington without further incident at 17.00hrs.
