Halifax RG555 at Holme on Spalding Moor airfield.

On 2nd May 1945 the engines of this 76 Squadron were being run up on the ground at Holme on Spalding Moor airfield when the starboard outer Bristol Hercules engine caught fire. Those around the aircraft used the aircraft's Graviner fire extinguisher system and ground fire equipment to put out the fire but some damage to the engine nacelle resulted. The damage was repaired and it returned to 76 Squadron, in August 1945 it transferred to 102 Squadron.
