Halifax RG554 damaged by enemy action, landed at Holme on Spalding Moor airfield.

On the night of 8th / 9th April 1945 the crew of this 76 Squadron aircraft undertook an operational flight to bomb submarine buildings at Hamburg. This aircraft took off from Holme on Spalding Moor airfield at 19.37hrs, they released their bomb load over the target area at 22.44hrs from 18,000 feet. After leaving the target this aircraft was attacked and damaged by enemy fighters but they were able to make the return to Holme on Spalding Moor airfield where they landed at 01.54hrs.
