Halifax PN235 at East Moor airfield.

At 14.59hrs on 16th April 1945 this aircraft was taking off for a training flight when it swung on take off causing the undercarriage collapse and it skidded to a halt. The crew listed below are believed to have been on board as all were the pilot's regular crew around this date. The photograph shown above almost certainly shows the damaged Halifax but why the photographer was hiding in the grass is not known. I thank Mrs Mary Ann Bourassa for this photograph which gives the date on the reverse as taken by her father in law who was a member of ground crew at East Moor in 1944 and 1945.
