Halifax PN176 at Leconfield airfield.
At 15.30hrs on 3rd March 1945 this 640 Squadron aircraft was being given an inspection that included having its engines started and run up when the port outer engine backfired and then caught fire. While the fire was soon brought under control minor damage to the aircraft had been caused. The fuel pressure warning unit was not correctly fitted to the aircraft and had caused the problem.
