On 28th April 1945 the crew of this 1661 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft were undertaking a training flight, probably a cross country navigation exercise. While flying at 6,000 feet a coolant leak in the port inner engine caused the engine to overheat and then catch fire. The crew feathered the engine which extinquished the fire. At 03.51hrs the aircraft landed at Dishforth airfield, probably as a precaution. Minor Cat.Ac resulted to the aircraft and Cat.B damage to the port inner engine.
