Mosquito NT304 at Linton on Ouse airfield.

During the evening of 15th April 1945 the crew of this 151 Squadron aircraft were one of seven of the same squadron undertaking intruder operations supporting bombing operations on Potsdam. Three Mosquitos flew at high level and four Mosquitos at low level. This Mosquito was one of the high level aircraft and while over Hamburg an engine cut out. The crew managed to fly for 425 miles on one engine and make a landing at Linton on Ouse. Having touched down successfully after 200 yards a tyre burst, an undercarriage leg probably then collapsed causing damage to the aircraft. The aircraft sustained repairable Cat.B damage.

Pilot - W/O E M Kimber.

Navigator - F/Sgt V Ryan.
