Halifax NR247 at Breighton airfield.
During the 16th January 1945 this 78 Squadron aircraft was empty on a dispersal point at Breighton airfield. Owing to strong winds ground crew were attempting to turn the aircraft into the wind using a tractor with a towing arm attached to the tail wheel assembly. Unfortunately the towing arm assembly broke and the tractor struck the aircraft's tail slightly damaging it.
No crew.
