Halifax NR134 at Tholthorpe airfield.

During the afternoon of 19th April 1945 this 425 Squadron aircraft was flown on a circuit training flight using Tholthorpe airfield. After landing at 15.30hrs the aircraft was being taxied along the perimeter track under the guidance from ground marshalls, when the brakes were applied only one appears to have worked and this caused the aircraft to swing off the concrete onto the grass. Unfortunately Halifax LV860 had earlier become bogged down some fifteen feet off the perimeter track in the same area and Halifax NR134 ran into the back of LV860. LV860 sustained a damaged port fin and rudder. Where the damage to Halifax NR134 is not recorded on the AM Form 1180.
