Halifax NP998 at Breighton airfield.

On 24th March 1945 this 78 Squadron aircraft was to have been flown on a bombing training exercise. At 12.45hrs which the pilot was taxying around the perimeter track at Breighton airfield the aircraft began to swing towards workmen. The pilot then over-corrected the swing and it then swung violently the opposite way into some form of obstruction. The aircraft's undercarriage leg or legs may have collapsed as three engines received damage.
