Halifax NP998 at Breighton airfield.
During the afternoon of 22nd March 1945 this 78 Squadron aircraft was flown on an operational flight to bomb Dulmen, the crew took off from Breighton airfield at 11.48hrs and released their bomb load from 12,000 feet at 14.21hrs. The crew suffered nothing other than what appears to have been a routine flight they landed back at Breighton at 16.37hrs. While taxying into a dispersal point towards a dispersal point the pilot noticed a trolley on the dispersal so stopped fearing a collision. A member of ground crew who was marshalling the aircraft waved the pilot on and the aircraft's tail struck the trolley. Minor damage resulted.
