Halifax NP991 at Lissett airfield.
On 12th March 1945 this 158 Squadron aircraft was flown on an evening cross country training flight. After just forty five minutes into the flight the aircraft returned to land at Lissett airfield at 20.25hrs but before the aircraft stopped the tail wheel assembly broke. A modification to strengthen the tail wheel assembly mountings on this Halifax had not yet been carried out.
