Lancaster NG393 at Wombleton airfield.
At 09.30hrs on 6th April 1945 this 1666 HCU aircraft was being given a daily inspection on a dispersal point on the edge of Wombleton airfield when a short circuit in the main electrical wiring caused a fire in the port outer engine nacelle. The fire was put out but it had caused minor damage to the engine and associated wiring looms.
