Halifax NA671 at Burn airfield.
At 19.32hrs on 7th February 1945 this 578 Squadron aircraft suffered the flap accumulator burst whilst it was being taxied at Burn airfield prior to an operational flight. Two of the crew sustained injuries. The aircraft received minor Cat.Ac damage. By comparing the pilot's crew on the previous operational sortie on 4th February 1945 and his next on 14th February 1945 there are a few changed to his crew but notably the wireless operator and flight engineer. The crew listed below is my assumed crew for 7th February 1945. The wireless operator was still on the injured list when 578 Squadron disbanded two months later and the rest of this crew were posted to 51 Squadron at Snaith, he was posted to the Sick Quarters at Snaith probably to rejoin his crew once fit.
