Halifax NA618 at Burn airfield.

At 20.05hrs on 2nd February 1945 this 578 Squadron aircraft was taxying on the perimeter track at Burn airfield prior to beginning an operational flight. At the same time Halifax NA586 moved forward from a dispersal site towards the perimeter track to begin taxying when its crew noticed NA618 taxying along the perimeter track and would pass their dispersal point. Halifax NA586 then stopped to allow NA618 to pass but as NA586 had moved forward there wasn't enough room for the wing of NA618 to clear the nose of NA586 and a minor collision occurred. Minor Cat.A damage to this aircraft resulted.
