Halifax NA566 at Carnaby airfield.

At 22.21hrs on 5th March 1945 this 1658 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft swung violently on landing at Carnaby airfield during a training flight resulting in the undercarriage collapsing. A fire broke out but the crew escaped before it spread. The pilot, with this crew, was posted to 158 Squadron five days later on completion of their Heavy Conversion Unit training.
