Halifax NA506 at Marston Moor airfield.

At 23.20hrs on 7th February 1945 this 1652 Heavy Conversion Unit took off from Marston Moor airfield with the crew tasked with flying a night circuits and landings flying training exercise. Ten minutes later the aircraft had flown the first circuit and attempted a landing but swung off the runway. It ran into soft ground and the undercarriage collapsed. The aircraft was badly damaged and was deemed beyond repair.
