Halifax NA497 at Topcliffe airfield.

During the evening of 10th April 1945 this 1659 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft was flown on a fighter affiliation exercise with a trainee crew alongside a flying instructor. At 23.25hrs, following a hour long flight, the aircraft landed at Topcliffe airfield but bounced. When it then touched down again the pilot was unable to stop the aircraft before the end of the concrete and it ran off into a very bumpy overshoot area. The aircraft received minor damage though the aircraft appears to have held up.
