On 4th January 1945 this 1652 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft was flown on a cross country training flight. On landing at Marston Moor at 15.50hrs the aircraft was being taxied back to a dispersal point when the slipstream of the aircraft picked up something (possibly a barrel) laying on the ground at the side of the perimeter track and blew it at the aircraft. It struck the port fin and damaged it.
