Halifax NA222 at Leconfield airfield.

During the early hours of 19th March 1945 this 640 Squadron aircraft was to have been flown on an operational flight to bomb Witten. While taxying from a dispersal point at Leconfield airfield at 00.25hrs the pilot lost control and the aircraft left the perimeter track. The aircraft then collided with ground equipment damaging the port inner and port outer propellers, fuselage and bomb doors. No further action was taken after the pilot was interviewed by the station's commanding officer.
