Halifax NA203 damaged in the air, returned to Snaith airfield.
On the night of 13th / 14th April 1945 this 425 Squadron aircraft undertook an operational flight to bomb a target at Kiel. The crew took off from Tholthorpe airfield at 22.11hrs. At 23.25hrs the Halifax was damaged by a flak burst but despite this damage the crew continued and released their bomb load onto target markers from 16,400 feet at 23.41hrs. Two bombs hung-up and later had to be jettisoned. Despite the damage the crew returned to Yorkshire but landed at Snaith at 03.25hrs.
