Halifax NA150 damaged in the air, returned to Snaith airfield.
On the night of 7th / 8th February 1945 this 51 Squadron aircraft was flown on an operational flight to attack Goch. The aircraft took off from Snaith airfield at 16.24hrs but while near the target the Master Bomber cancelled the order to release their bomb load. At 21.44hrs the Halifax received a buckled port wing tip due to a collision at 11,500 feet while over Allied held territory and probably while friendly ground anti-aircraft guns began firing on various aircraft. They landed at 01.35hrs but the squadron records do not mention it was, it was probably back at Snaith.
