Halifax MZ937 damaged in the air, landed at Pocklington airfield.

On the night of 22nd January 1945 this 102 Squadron aircraft was detailed to be flown on an operational flight to bomb Gelsenkirchen and took off from Pocklington airfield at 19.18hrs. Outbound the aircraft's starboard outer engine caught fire at 21.18hrs. The crew shut down the engine and feathered the propeller on the failed engine, this put out the fire. The crew opted to jettison the bomb load and turn from home, landing at 23.14hrs almost certainly at Pocklington.
