Halifax MZ690 at Dishforth airfield.

On the night of 28th February / 1st March 1945 this 1664 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft was flown on a training flight. After landing at around 01.20hrs at Dishforth the pilot taxied the aircraft back to a dispersal point, chocks were placed under the wheels and the crew began their run-down procedure. During this the chocks slipped and as the aircraft had low brake pressure the aircraft rolled forward and struck a bowser. Minor Cat.Ac damage resulted.
