Halifax MZ678 at Full Sutton airfield.

At around 19.00hrs on 7th February 1945 77 Squadron crews were into the process of taking off to fly a large operational flight to bomb Goch. Halifax MZ678 set off down the runway at Full Sutton at 19.30hrs but the pilot did not correctly operate the throttle controls, as it picked up speed a swing developed and it left the runway. The pilot cut the power to the engines to stop the aircraft but it was travelling too fast and overshot the runway. It received minor damage.

The first six of those names above were posted in to 77 Squadron on 30th November 1944 and then out to 102 Squadron on 18th April 1945.
