Halifax MZ590 at Topcliffe airfield.
During the evening of 16th April 1945 this 1659 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft was flown on a basic circuits and landings exercise using Topcliffe airfield. At 18.55hrs during one of the landings the tail wheel assembly mounting broke and the aircraft's tail wheel assembly collapsed. The aircraft came to rest with minor damage.
