Halifax MZ585 at Topcliffe airfield.
On 1st May 1945 the crew of this 1659 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft had undertaken a fighter affiliation exercise with a fighter and were in the process of making at landing at Topcliffe airfield at 14.19hrs in a strong cross wind, the aircraft skidded and swung on landing and the undercarriage collapsed.
