Halifax MZ394 at Leconfield airfield.
On 27th February 1945 this 640 Squadron aircraft made an approach to land at Leconfield following a training flight but the approach made was too high, it touched down at 19.45hrs too far along the runway and overshot the airfield breaking the tail wheel casting broke. Minor Cat.Ac damage resulted. The crew were only posted into 640 Squadron on four days previously and were flying a cross country training flight when this incident happened.
