Halifax LW639 damaged in the air, landed at Marston Moor airfield.
During the afternoon of 3rd May 1945 this 1652 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft was flown on a fighter affiliation exercise. While in the air the aircraft suffered a fire in the starboard inner engine due to an hydraulic leak. Luckily the fire burnt itself out in the air and the crew were able to land safely back at Marston Moor airfield.
