Halifax LW438 at Elvington airfield.
On 22nd January 1945 the crew of this 346 Squadron aircraft were in the process of taking off from Elvington airfield at 19.00hrs to fly an operational flight to Gelsenkirchen when the aircraft swung off the runway and ran through a hedge. The undercarriage was removed and the aircraft skidded to a halt.
