Halifax LL544 at Riccall airfield.

At 09.00hrs on 31st January 1945 this 1658 Heavy Conversion Unit was slightly damaged in a landing at Riccall airfield following a problem with the starboard outer engine on the approach to land.

Pilot - F/Lt Douglas Evans DFC RAFVR (169115).

Pilot - F/O Neil Stephen Sullivan RAAF (434110).

Douglas Evans was awarded the DFC for service with 10 Squadron in 1944. He was instructing at 1658 H.C.U. at the time of the incident in 1945.
