Halifax LK754 damaged in the air, landed at Holme on Spalding Moor.
On 27th February 1945 this aircraft was flown an operational flight to bomb Mainz in Halifax LK754, the aircraft took off from Holme on Spalding Moor airfield at 13.27hrs, bombed the target markers at 16.39hrs from 16,000 feet and made for home. Prior to landing the aircraft collided with a flock of birds (possibly ducks) which damaged the perspex nose of the aircraft. With the nose of the aircraft damaged the aircraft landed at 19.11hrs at Holme on Spalding Moor. LK754 was next used operationally on 7th March 1945.
