Mustang KM428 at Sherburn in Elmet airfield.
At 18.25hrs on 19th April 1945 this aircraft landed at Sherburn in Elmet airfield during a flight being made by a No.7 Ferry Pilot Pool pilot of the ATA with the main undercarriage legs retracted. It was later discovered that an electrical fault with the undercarriage warning system saw the pilot left with no indication of the issue and a stiff undercarriage selection lever prevented it being moved into the fully down position.
