Lancaster KB835 wind damaged at Croft airfield.
During the night of 18th / 19th January 1945 a gale effected various airfields in Yorkshire with some of their parked aircraft being damaged. This 434 Squadron aircraft was picketted at Croft airfield when the wind broke the aileron control locks and bent the rudder. The wind was recorded as gusting up to 65 mph during the night.
