Lancaster KB789 at Croft airfield.

On 15th January 1945 this 434 Squadron aircraft this aircraft was flown on a night flying exercise. A cross wind and poor visibility effected the pilot's vision on the aircraft's approach to land after a ten minute flight. At 19.28hrs it landed right on the edge of the runway causing it strike a sodium flare with the tail and damaged a rudder and fin.
